Webmail: Using the Address Book
Webmail provides direct access to Address Book, where you can create and utilize a personalized database of contact information. Specifically pertinent to Webmail, is the ability to quickly access email addresses for contacts to which you want to send emails.
General instructions for the Address Book can be found below; you can also use the Address Book to look up email addresses in the University's CNet directory server, but this requires special configuration.
To access Address Book from Webmail:
Click Address Book.
Result: The Address Book Contacts page displays.
Using Address Book to add contacts to compositions:

In
the Compose page, click the Address Book button.
Important! Once you begin a composition, use the
Address Book button NOT the Address Book link to
add contacts and groups; using the link may result in a loss of
data.
Result: The Address Book Contacts page displays. - Select contacts; remember to click Save Selection
before changing pages if you are selecting contacts on different
pages. Important! Use the Find People link NOT the
Search link to look for contacts; using the Search
link may result in a loss of data. When you have all of the
contacts you want to send email to selected in the correct
column (To, Cc, or Bcc), click Back to
Compose.
Result: The Email To/Cc/Bcc: contacts page displays with the selected recipients as specified. - To add a group to your composition, click Groups.
Result: the Address Book Groups page displays. - Select the groups you want to send email to using the
correct column (To, Cc, or Bcc) and then
click Back to Compose.
Result: The Email To/Cc/Bcc: groups page displays with the selected recipients groups as specified. - To remove selected contacts or groups, deselect the checkbox
next to their name and click Save Selection.
Result: The name of the contact or group goes away from the list. - When you have just the contacts and groups you want on the
Email To/Cc/Bcc: contacts or groups page, click
Back to Compose again.
Result: The Compose page redisplays with the selected contacts and/or groups in the specified recipient lines.
