Creating a drop box
A drop box is a directory to which others can upload files, but they cannot see the contents.
Note: Faculty should use Chalk to create a drop box for a course.
- Create a new directory for your drop box.
- Set a quota limit on the directory:
- Click the Manage
button. - Click the "Directory Properties" section.
- Click the "Quota" link.
- Enter the quota limit and press the Ok button.
- Click the Manage
- Create a Ticket:
- Click the "Tickets" link.
- Click the Create Ticket
button. - Set the properties for the ticket and click the Ok button.
- Modify the permissions on the directory:
- Go back to the directory and click the Share
button. - Select the "Write" checkbox for the ticket.
- Click the Apply button.
- Click the Ok button to confirm the change.
- Click the Set Inheritance
button. - Deselect the "Read" and "Write" checkboxes for the ticket.
- Click the Apply button.
- Click the Ok button to confirm the change.
- Go back to the directory and click the Share
