Moving or copying a file
Moving a file
When you move a file, WebShare moves it from its current location to another location. You can move one or more files at a time.
In order to move a file, you must have delete permission on the file you wish to move and write permission on the directory to which you are moving it.
To move a file
- Navigate to the directory from which you wish to move a file.
- Identify the file(s) you want to move by selecting the checkbox to the left of the file(s).
- Click the Move
button. - Choose the location to which you wish to move the file by entering the exact path or browsing.
- Click the Ok button to move the select file(s).
Copying a file
When you copy a file, WebShare copies it to another location, leaving the original in place. You can copy one or more files at a time.
In order to copy a file, you must have read permission on the file and write permission on the directory to which you are copying it.
To copy a file:
- Navigate to the directory from which you wish to copy a file.
- Identify the file(s) you want to copy by selecting the checkbox to the left of the file(s).
- Click the Copy
button. - Choose the location to which you wish to copy the file by entering the exact path or browsing.
- Click the Ok button to copy the selected file(s).
